NATIONAL CITY CELEBRATES FOURTH OF JULY

WITH ANNUAL CARNIVAL AND FIREWORKS



The City of National City and the National City Host Lions Club will host the annual Fourth of July Carnival at Kimball Park from June 30th – July 4th. The carnival features games, rides, food and drink items for sale by area non-profit organizations, and various entertainment throughout the week including musical acts and contests. Events throughout the week include the Miss National City Pageant and the South Bay’s only inland fireworks display.

The schedule for the week is as follows:


Thursday, June 30th – 5pm-11pm (Miss National City Pageant at 7pm)

Friday, July 1st – 1pm-11pm

Saturday, July 2nd – 1pm-11pm
On Saturday evening, young ladies will compete in the 61th Anniversary of the Miss National City Scholarship Pageant at 7:00 pm on the Kimball Bowl stage. The winner and her court will represent National City in various civic events throughout the year and be eligible for a scholarship at the end of her reign.

Monday, July 4th 12pm-1145pm  (fireworks at 9pm)


Kimball Park is located at the corner of 12th Street and D Avenue in National City.

46th Annual Chicano Park Day Celebration

Organized by the Chicano Park Steering Committee, Stewards of Chicano Park

“Empowering Our Youth, Ensuring Our Traditions Live On” is the theme of the 46th annual Chicano Park Day to be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, in historic Chicano Park, located in the Barrio Logan community, south of downtown San Diego. This family event is free and open to the public.

Established by Chicano activists on April 22, 1970, Chicano Park has received international recognition as a major public art site for its commanding mural paintings of the past and present struggle of Mexican and Chicano history. Chicano Park has been listed on the California Register of Historical Resources since 1997 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Visitors to Chicano Park Day will experience traditional music and dance, including one of the most beautiful performances of Aztec Indigenous dance, coordinated by Danza Azteca Calpulli Mexihca. The event will include performances by Ballet Folklórico Libertad, Ballet  Folklórico Yaqui, Mujeres en Resistencia, FAMA: Folklórico  & Mariachi Association, USD, Mariachi Imperial de San Diego, La Rondalla Amerindia de Aztlan, Steeltoe, Pleazure Band, Grupo Tierra Chicano, 2MX2, Goma Sound, Generations Blvd Band, Chocolate Revolution, Almas Fronterizas, and Maiz. There will also be speakers representing the Chicano Park Steering Committee, Brown Berets de Aztlán, Amigos Car Club, and Via International.

 In addition, there will be a display of classic lowrider cars presented by Amigos Car Club, children’s art workshop led by muralist Victor Ochoa and various informational booths. Food, arts and crafts vendors will be selling their specialties throughout Chicano Park.

Why you need a pro photographer

Why you need a pro photographer

  1. To become sole ownership of professionally taken photos
  2. Just don't have experience taking photos.
  3. To shy or not social to request a pictures you want.
  4. Can't organize photo shoots.
  5. To tired from work to take pictures.
  6. No energy to take pictures at after party.
  7. Don't have back up camera.
  8. Don't know how to set up a pose.
  9. Don't know the right moment for a picture.
  10. Can't be at all places where the picture needs to be taken at.
  11. Whole event coverage not just personal person(s) of interest.
  12. Don't know who are family, friends, or guest.
  13. Don't want to waste time taking pictures, because you want to enjoy party
  14. Focus is usually off
  15. Lighting of the photo image is incorrect: either to bright or to dark.
